If our sleek and stylish drink holder isn’t the perfect gift for that special person on your list, here’s a tip for another popular idea:
Gift cards have been accepted as a gift alternative for some years now. It was argued to be an improvement of gift certificates or gift checks. However, despite being in this world for several years, there are still some people who think differently regarding gift cards.
One fallacy that was stated by several people is that gift cards are not personal since it’s not a product of a thought process from the mind of the giver. There may be some truth in this because gift cards are generic gifts that are not suited to any person’s interests. However, if we look into a different perspective, gift cards are actually personal because it allows the eventual card holder to choose a gift that he or she actually wants. In addition, there are gift card companies that offer gift card printing services that allows the buyer to customize the gift card with a picture, a personal message or the name of the recipient – all written in and on the gift card (now if only we could manage that personal a touch on our cup holder at an effective price point). Other ways of personalization would be to include a separate card that contains a personal message to the recipient. This way, the person will feel some sense of personal touch when receiving the gift.
An additional fallacy is that gift cards are tools for businesses to ransack people’s money. The idea may come when people come across ads about discounted or free gift cards, or news about companies gaining too much money in this industry. It’s no secret that gift card is a million dollar business. Having said that, the government shouldn’t have agreed to this if the whole system is a scam. It’s true that business gain from these cards through more sales and some fees. But the point is that it’s not considered theft at all. There may be some charges or fees that apply but these are made aware to consumers through the terms and conditions. There is nothing to be feared about in this system because it’s legal. The only instance when a company would take the whole amount of the gift card would be when gift card owners won’t redeem their card before the expiration date.
