Many people confuse themselves when it comes on to buying a digital camera or a camcorder (just as some people are confused about buying things like wheelchair accessories). Some people say they will prefer a digital camera for their photography needs and they get a video recorder also. Others think better to buy a camcorder as camcorder also solves both the purpose. I believe both are fine at the point but there is a small line of difference that should be considered before buying any of the two. And that is understanding your basic need. If your main requirement is photography then you should go for digital camera (I brought digital camera bundle some time back for my photograph needs from online store in Canon digital camera sale). Reason being digital cameras are made for high quality photography while camcorders are for videography. Although many camcorders have a feature to click photographs also but that is the additional feature and not its basic feature (for which it is designed) and in most of them the image quality of a photograph is not very good.
If your basic requirement is videography then you should go for camcorders (like going for a cup holder to hold your cups). Since camcorders are designed for high quality videography it is the best option to capture videos. Although you will get the video feature in digital cameras also but since you donot have enough space in memory cards you cannot store lenghthy videos. Also if you compare the video captured by camcorder and digital camera, you will find thet camcorder is better. Also being manufactured mainly for videography, camcorders offers large number of feature for capturing videos.
Now the question arises what to do if we want to click photos as well as capture videos? Shall we buy both digital camera as well as camcorder? Here as my personal preference I will prefer a digital camera because its photo quality is very good and the video quality is also good (slightly less than a camcorder) but a far better deal than buying camcorder for photography also. Plus a digital camera has the ability to sit neatly in an unused drink holder, on your wheelchair, scooter or otherwise.
